This email is being sent to those who support student financials in Workday. Depending on your role, you may also receive emails in the coming weeks related to supporting financial aid in Workday.

Welcome to Workday Student! While you now have access to the new system, we expect you may not need to use it extensively right away.  

We’ve put together some tips and tasks that will help you feel more comfortable as you start to take on student financial tasks within Workday. Also check out the Student Financials page on the Student Sunrise website, which is updated frequently with new information.

First week: Feb. 17, 2025

While many of your Workday tasks will not be available until summer 2025 or later, there are some things you will need to complete when the system goes live Feb. 17.

• If you previously changed your notification preferences in Workday, you may wish to review them to ensure the Custom Business Processes option is not set to Mute, so you will receive any emails related to business process steps you may need to complete.
• Ensure you’ve signed up for a session of the in-person instructor-led training in March and April. Complete the advance eLearnings, Navigating Workday Student and Reports in Workday Student.
• If applicable to your school, begin maintaining student financials cohorts to prepare for Fall 25 tuition assessment.
• Provide course section fee information to Student Accounting using the template. If you do not have the template, contact Vivian Eberhardt or Kristi Cunningham to receive a copy. 
• Brush up on your skills with resources for getting started by visiting workday.wustl.edu/student and choosing “I need help with… Getting Started.”
• Review financial topics on workday.wustl.edu/student by choosing “I need help with… Student Financials & Financial Aid.” Here you’ll find tasks and reference materials for both those who manage financial aid and those who manage student financials. You may find financial aid materials useful for awareness.

How do I get help with Workday Student?

Students, faculty, and staff can continue to get help with Workday Student during in-person or virtual office hours through May 9, 2025. 

You also can access step-by-step tutorials and other resources in the moment as you are working in the system from the Workday at WashU website.
