Faculty News and Updates

Goodbye and Thank You to Dave Baron

This month we said goodbye to Dave Baron, Health and Care Education Administrative Assistant, who has been a valued member of the Faculty team for the past 18 months. During his time with the Faculty, Dave has provided essential support across a wide range of activities, helping to keep projects, events and day-to-day operations running smoothly. Colleagues have appreciated his willingness to help, positive attitude and commitment to supporting the work of the Faculty.

We would like to thank Dave for his contribution and wish him every success and happiness in his future role. He will be greatly missed, and we look forward to hearing about his future achievements.

NHS Leadership and Management Framework is Launched

The new NHS Leadership and Management Framework provides a consistent approach to leadership and management development across health and care. It is built around the Leadership and Management Code, which sets out the principles and behaviours expected of leaders and managers. The framework includes a ‘My Stage’ section to help individuals identify the standards relevant to their role, alongside leadership and management standards that describe the essential competencies expected at different levels. A self-assessment tool is also available to support evaluation against the standards, helping identify strengths and development needs and informing appraisal discussions. You can find out more about the framework here.

AHP Framework for System Impact

As announced on the 2 June 2026, work has begun on developing the next AHP Framework for System Impact (2027-2032). A survey is open to gather feedback on 6 key themes (deadline to respond: Friday 18 September). It will be key to reflect the role of AP in the AHP framework being that is developed.

How you can support increased engagement

  • Share comms via social media, bulletins, or email cascade

Centre for Advancing Practice Masterclass Series
Your Route to Recognition: Understanding the ePortfolio (Supported) Route

This masterclass offers a comprehensive introduction to the ePortfolio (Supported) Route - a vital pathway for recognising advanced practitioners who completed their education outside of an accredited programme. Designed to uphold national standards while valuing diverse professional journeys, this route enables experienced practitioners to demonstrate their training, education, and impact through a structured, supported process.

Attendees will gain insight into the purpose and design of the route, the support mechanisms in place, and the positive impact it’s having on individuals, services, and systems. Whether you’re considering the route yourself, supporting a colleague, or leading workforce development, this session will clarify the benefits and opportunities of this important recognition pathway.
