Chamber in the Chapel

Last Friday night, we witnessed another incredible musical display at Chamber in the Chapel. 

Friends, family, and staff heard the Percussion Ensemble, Piano Trio 2, Flute Ensemble, Year 8 String Quartet, Guitar Ensemble, and Piano Trio 1 perform. 

Congratulations to all the students, and staff on a truly wonderful evening.

IGSSA Athletics 

Yesterday, despite the less-than-ideal conditions, we displayed true PLC pride at the IGSSA Athletics Carnival.

Over 70% of the squad ran, jumped, or threw a personal best on the day and a huge congratulations to Years 11 and 12 for winning the Year 11/12 Pennant!

PLC Holiday Programme

The PLC Holiday Programme will run Wednesday 28, Thursday 29, and Friday 30 September from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm at $50 per day. 

Some excellent community partnerships will deliver the sessions including the Perth Scorchers (with current players), K2 Dance, Netball WA, Aspire Tennis, and Lyn Foreman (Athletics). 

Each day is unique, with students covering four different sports sessions each day. 

This is open to female students from Pre-Primary to Year 7 from any school, so book now to secure your spot! Places are limited.

IGSSA Sport Trial Dates

Term 4 Co-curricular Sport

IGSSA Sports

Students in Years 7-12 received information last week advising how to register for the Term 4 Co-curricular sport trials. Sports include: Years 7-9 and Years 10-12 Softball, Water Polo, Tennis, Year 9-10 Badminton, and Year 7-12 Cricket. 

Students are welcome to register for more than one IGSSA sport, providing training and games are on separate days. A commitment to each sport's training and games is required. 

Trials for Years 7-9 Water Polo and Softball will be held from 3.45 pm – 5.00 pm Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 September PLC. All other sport trials will be held in Term 4. 

Swim Training  

Years 7-12 swim training continues into Term 4 and will be held on Mon/Wed/Fri mornings at either PLC or HBF Stadium.  The first session commences Wed 12 Oct and will be held in the PLC Pool.  

A final training schedule will be available in Week 1 of Term 4. 

Rowing  

For information relating to Term 4 Rowing, please contact Mr David Milne, Head of Rowing.

PLC Creative Arts & Technology Exhibition

We invite you to attend the PLC Creative Arts & Technology Exhibition, where the View Street building will be transformed into a gallery showcasing the works of emerging artists and designers from Years 7 to 12. This year's Creative Arts & Technology Exhibition - In Sight, will display a spectacular array of visual arts, woodworks, textiles, design and media to be enjoyed by all.

Student Achievements

Basketball Pennant

Our Senior A Basketball team has secured the pennant after their win last week. 

Technically undefeated, as they won every game apart from one draw, they've enjoyed an outstanding season.

2022 CLTAWA State Chinese Writing & Speaking Competitions

Congratulations to the following girls who competed at the CLTAWA State Chinese Writing and Speaking Competitions organised by the Chinese Language Teachers’ Association at WA. 

The competitions are state-wide and provide Chinese language students an opportunity to strive for excellence in their writing and speaking skills.
