More information is available on our website at: https://www.neero.org/conference NEERO 2023:Conference ThemeOur theme is "Practicing Impactful Education Research Toward Truth, Equity, and Accountability."
Building on the American Educational Research Association 2023 Annual Meeting theme, the New England Educational Research Organization (NEERO) 2023 Annual Conference calls for research proposals that fit under the theme of “Practicing Impactful Education Research Toward Truth, Equity, and Accountability.” As a global community, we find ourselves navigating a field that is open to some and closed to others, a field that defines itself by peer-reviewed research, yet where policy makers often make decisions outside of this process. As we reimagine the world post-COVID-19, we find many research questions still waiting for us and ready to be re-envisioned. Institutionalized and systemic racism, climate change, physical and mental health access, and social and economic disparities continue to manifest in and out of education. As researchers and practitioners, activists and policy makers, students and teachers, NEERO calls on each of us to rise up and leverage our expertise to share, collaborate, and learn through educational research. To do so, at the NEERO 2023 Annual Meeting, we will ask: How have these multiple and overlapping crises influenced teaching and learning? In what ways does current curriculum, instruction, teaching and learning, research methods, and technology expand and empower equitable systems? How have elected officials and policy makers held us accountable for this work, and how should they? What have been the effects of these shared global realities on our youth, families, communities, administrators and educators? A vital aspect to NEERO is providing a forum for novice and expert researchers, students, professors, policy makers, teachers, consultants, and activists to come together to share research and engage in critical dialogue. We invite undergraduate students, graduate students, practitioners, institutional researchers, faculty, policy makers, community organizers, and activists to submit proposals for the NEERO 2023 Annual Meeting. NEERO welcomes all submissions and particularly encourages submissions that are aligned with the theme that demonstrate impactful education research toward truth, equity, and accountability.
