WHAT A GREAT ARRIVAL DAY!
It's wonderful to have students on campus and get to know them. They are connecting with each other and learning the rhythms of life on campus, including their teachers and classes. Thank you for entrusting us with your student. Each of them is amazing in their own way and we all are very excited to watch them grow!
WASATCH CARES PACKAGE
THANK YOU!! The Wasatch Cares campaign was a remarkable success! Your generous backing has reaffirmed the unity of the Wasatch Academy community, ensuring each student a memorable beginning to the 2023-2024 school year.
School Photos
Individual photos for all grades will be taken on Wednesday, September 20th by local photographers at White Raven Studios. We will provide the family's email address to White Raven Studios so that they can share these photos directly with you. Please advise Ms. Laura Prenot, our Visual Arts Department Chair who leads the yearbook team, if you do not want your email address shared with White Raven Studios.
Student Advisors & Their Communication with You
Your student's advisor supports and guides them in every part of student life, including academics, social interaction, and engagement in school activities. The advisor is the primary source of communication between families and Wasatch Academy. While each advisor/advisee relationship is unique, all advisors seek to develop an authentic relationship based on respect and trust. Students can always go to their advisor for help connecting with their adult support system on campus. Every Tuesday and Wednesday morning, during the advisory period, the students meet with their advisors to review their overall well-being in all aspects of student life. Advisors also check in on students' participation in weekend recreation activities. They are there to help keep your student engaged and participating in these social and learning activities. The only exceptions for not attending weekend recreation will be athletes with commitments on Fridays and/or Saturdays and day students with family obligations. Advisors will communicate with you, the families, regularly by way of an email with an update on the students' overall status in their academic, residential, recreational, and community life at Wasatch Academy. We always encourage you to reach out to your student's advisor at any time.
Schedule Changes
Students can make changes to their schedules by submitting requests online which are addressed by Anne Marie Lund, Registrar, for 8th through 11th grades, and by college counseling for seniors and post-grads. They may make non-advanced placement (AP) class changes until Wednesday, September 6th. AP class changes may be made until Friday, September 8th. Please check with your student about their schedule. You can see their schedule in

IMMERSIONS
Immersions provide our students with opportunities to learn outside of a typical classroom setting. Students are encouraged to embrace new experiences, explore new areas of interest, dive more deeply into their passions, and have fun. Faculty from across disciplines design immersive experiences, most often off campus. Taking place throughout the school year, students choose from a variety of interdisciplinary, experiential, and service-learning opportunities focused on real-world topics, creative projects, and valuable life skills. An immersion might be a weekend camping at a national park studying geology and petroglyphs, attending a series of live theater performances, or visiting historical sites and museums. Students learn alongside their
peers and create lifelong memories. We will share immersion experiences with you in the Wasatch Weekly and Wasatch Connect!
SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL
IMMERSION
September 21st - 23rd
Cedar City is known for its annual Utah Shakespeare Festival. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a 3-day immersion Sept 21-23. The schedule is packed with great theater performances and fun. Students will depart campus on Thursday and return on Saturday.

If you are driving your student to and from campus, we need to know this as well. Thank you!
