NOTICE:

Late arrival to school results in interruptions to the learning process. Parents are encouraged to have students to school on time. All parents must come in to the office to sign-in any student who arrives too late to be in class when the gates and classroom doors are closed at 8:30am. All children need to be signed in using our new electronic system, which will change the class register to show that they are on school premises.  Drop-offs are not permitted.

*Excessive tardiness to school may be referred to the Local Authority for action and possible court referral.

NO CLUBS

There are no after school clubs next week (5th-9th March) because of Primary Parents Evening.

MyBookBlog

Inviting all Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4 parents and carers to the exciting launch of MyBookBlog on Thursday 15th March at 3:00pm.  There will be a film club for your children to attend during the meeting.

MyBookBlog is an online resource designed to enhance children’s journeys through well-loved stories.  It supports children to choose fantastic books available in school libraries and bookshops using blurbs, trailers, reviews and ratings from other children.  Children can read their chosen book at home or at school and complete the activities on MyBookBlog at any time.

The activities on MyBookBlog encourage children to blog about their thoughts and feelings and explore the subject matter. The activities also support them to fully comprehend the text they are reading and learn new vocabulary.

As children read, their MyBookBlog homepage grows.  As they collect favourite words, facts, cards, maps and timelines and share their thoughts in their blog; their homepage becomes a record of their reading journey.

At the races

In PBL, Year 2 put their oracy skills to the test by commentating on a live relay race. We considered the pitch, pace and volume of our voice as well as our facial expressions and gestures. It was difficult to apply all of this when people were running quickly, but after a few rounds of practice we were commentating confidently!

Do you wanna build a Snowman?

This week in Reception we have been amazed by the weather! On Tuesday we watched excitedly as the snow storm arrived and then made observations of the snow melting when the sun came out again. There has been lots of effective talk about how the weather and seasons change and the clothes we need to wear to keep us warm and safe. Children have also been developing their independence and own responsibility with all the practice of putting on coats, hats, gloves and welly boots!

The best part was when we had a chance to go out and feel the snow for ourselves. We used lots of describing words to talk about the snow and ice. Hopefully we will still have enough snow to make a snowman at the weekend!

Is it a Monster?

This week Year 3 have been sculpting our own mythical monsters! We have used clay every day to create different shapes, textures and to draft challenging parts of our designs. On Friday we began our final draft with a clay expert.

An extra big thank you to all of our families who battled the snowy weather to get in everyday!
Our attendance winners were Monet with 97.4%!
