![]() Technology Enhanced Learning NewsFebruary 2025 A message from Dr Neil Ralph, Deputy Director of Technology Enhanced LearningWelcome to the February issue of TEL News 2025. There are many exciting projects currently taking place across TEL and beyond, and several of our SMEs are being asked to share their skills and experiences across NHS England to support major programmes and policies. I hope to showcase more of our work and the skills of our excellent team members in the coming months as we reflect on our role as educators. As we approach the end of the financial year it is important that we continue to expand our work in health and social care and continue to strengthen our ongoing collaboration with partners within NHS England and others in the wider system during this period of change. ![]() Workstream UpdatesSimulation and Immersive Technologies Accessibility for Virtual RealityThe TEL team has worked with the NHS England Accessibility team to refresh accessibility requirements when creating or commissioning virtual reality 360-degree video. The updated accessibility guide provides a practical approach to maximise accessibility, engagement, and inclusivity for all viewers and to ensure immersive learning experiences are available to the widest possible audience. The guide forms part of the 'How to create VR360 video' series, which covers the technical aspects of 360-degree video production. An accompanying quick reference guide has also been produced which highlights the main steps to make virtual reality 360-degree video accessible. ASPiH’s four nations simulation faculty inaugural meetingThe TEL team were recently invited to join the Association for Simulated Practice in Healthcare (ASPiH), meeting between health organisations in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to discuss a shared competency framework for simulation faculty across the four nations. The team will be working closely with health systems across the United Kingdom to share good practice as well as collaborating on the production of shared best practice around simulation faculty development. ![]() Becoming Simulation Faculty Regional WorkshopsIn January, the NHS England TEL team hosted over 80 representatives at three face to face sessions in Burnley, Newcastle and London, to enable people to learn about the workshop content, delivery logistics and to add their experiences to the programme. A further session is planned for 20 March in Torbay. Feedback from the delegates attending the first workshops has been excellent; "Very helpful to have us create scenarios. I found it very nice that the workshop day was not a re-read of the e-Learning module... the workshop complemented and reinforced the e-Learning. Thanks!" A further session is planned for 20 March in Torbay, to find out how to enrol or to learn more about the Becoming Simulation Faculty programme visit the webpage or contact the team for more information.
