Senior School Notices

TERM 3 WEEK 4

Best Day of the Year

Dear valued member of the PLC community,

The Senior School was filled with House Spirit as we celebrated Arts Day on Wednesday. It was fantastic to see so many students participating, showcasing their skills, and being a part of our community. The Staff Act is often a highlight for our students and I would like to thank our wonderful teachers as well as our operations and admin staff for their involvement in making Arts Day so special. Thank you to our House Advisors, House Captains, and House Co-ordinators for all their work in preparing for this day. Congratulations to:

Ferguson House for winning House Dance

Carmichael House for taking out House Choir and to Emily Stevens (Year 12) for leading them in her role as Choir Co-ordinator

Carmichael House for their overall victory on Arts Day!

Founders' Day

Today we held our 107th Annual Founders’ Day Service. It was lovely to see the whole school come together for this special day, including many of our Old Collegians. Old Collegian Kendall Whyte (2010) was our guest speaker for the service, with Hon June (Margaret) Craig AM (Lynn 1947) and current Kindergarten student Milly Wade cutting the PLC birthday cake.

Student Leaders

On Arts Day we announced our Student Council for 2022. Congratulations to all the students who were elected to these formal leadership positions.

Our applications for Stage 3 and Stage 4 nominations are now also open and we look forward to announcing these positions in the future.

All Year 12 students at PLC, whether they are Office Holders or not, are expected to be leaders within our community. This is especially in relation to caring for younger students and being exemplary role models. I have witnessed many girls who missed out on leadership positions make a real impact in their final year and have seen them recognised for their contributions on Speech Night and through other means. I encourage those who miss out to get involved in the variety of opportunities that PLC provides.
