You ask, we listen! There’s always room for improvement and if you have ideas on how the DDD Dashboard could be made more valuable or more efficient, then we want to hear it. Your input has already led to multiple enhancements, the most recent being the inclusion of personal information (PI) in the Educator Information Report, which goes live next week. If you have approved PI access, then this feature’s for you! See below for the details.

Top of mind for everyone next week is the countdown to month end, when the old version of Valistractor will be switched off. Please note that if you try to use the old version after 28 February you will be immediately directed to the new Valistractor instead. The DDD training team is pulling out all the stops to give you every opportunity to download and test the new Valistractor before the end of the week, so scroll down to the webinar links, and book your seat today.

Commenting during a webinar on how to install and use the new Valistractor, Ms Hawkins added that she was able to submit her school’s data for the week, with “no problem”!   Mr Mbali describes the dashboard as a “very helpful” tool for senior management, because it enables you to view a wide range of metrics with a single click of a button.   Armed with DDD data, Mr Mokoena says he is able to make informed decisions. He describes DDD as a platform where “data shapes progress and drives performance”.

  TIPS FROM THE BEST
An “official” viewpoint
Get to grips with the new Valistractor on Wednesday or Friday morning OR learn the ins and outs of term-to-date submissions on Thursday or Friday afternoon. Click below for details and to book your free seat.   It’s a date: you, the new Valistractor and your weekly/ term-to-date submission! Regular data submissions help you pinpoint performance issues before they become problems – and that’s only one of five good reasons to do it. Find out more below.   Mr Shadrack Vukeya, Deputy Chief Education Specialist from Johannesburg West (the country’s top performer in the NSC results) is a clear fan of how DDD supports officials – especially when it comes to predicting learner drop-outs. GAUTENG   LIMPOPO
  KWAZULU-NATAL   EASTERN CAPE
Way ahead of the pack is Gauteng, with more than 1 122 (35%) of schools having submitted data via the new Valistractor!   With 676 schools (17,5%) using the upgraded platform, Limpopo takes a strong second place – and is climbing fast!   At 6,5% with 382 schools submitting via the new Valistractor, KwaZulu-Natal is doing well, but still has a distance to go.
Leading a tight fight for fourth spot (beating North West and Mpumalanga) is Eastern Cape, with 326 schools (6%).

  DDD PROGRESS

As we head into the final stretch of term 1 (where did the last two months go?!) all eyes are on weekly/term-to-date submissions, the installation and use of the new and improved Valistractor, and – as always – recent enhancements to the DDD Dashboard. Great news is that from next week Educator Personal Information (PI) is available in the Educator Info Report, following multiple requests from users. Keep reading for the details ...

ED REPORT IMPROVED
Educator PI available
  BETTER PROFILING
Promotion status
  28 FEB CUT-OFF DATE
Valistractor switchover
From next week, Personal Information (PI data) is available in the Excel data download of the Educator Information Report, enabling officials with authorised PI access to easily identify educators when needed. Keep an eye out for the relevant PI button on the dashboard’s Reports page.   Previous year promotion status is now included in the Learner Information Report data download, which means you can see how each learner performed at the end of the previous year, compare this to a specific term, and easily identify who was progressed. For a quick guide on accessing PI data in that report download, click here.   Give yourself enough time to download, install and test the new Valistractor before 28 Feb next week. After that, the old Valistractor will be switched off, and you will only be able to submit data via the new version. Avoid unnecessary end-of-term pressure by downloading it today.
