New Aged Care Act updates, Free training opportunitiesNew Aged Care Act consultation period extendedMany people have asked for more time to review the draft Act and provide feedback on this important change to aged care. In response, the Department of Health and Aged care has extended the consultation period to Friday 8th March The new Act will impact everyone connected to aged care so it’s important that you get involved and have your say. Read more about the consultation on the new Aged Care Act. Support at Home Q & A for Service ProvidersThe Q&A session will take place on Thursday 22 February 2024 from 1.00pm to 2.30pm (AEDT). The Q&A session will be hosted by Nick Morgan, Assistant Secretary of Support at Home Reform Branch. You have the option to submit questions before or during the session. If you cannot attend, you can register and be notified when a recording will be ready. Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards guidance consultationThis consultation invites your feedback on our draft guidance resources for providers and workers on the new strengthened Quality Standards.The consultation closes at midday AEST on 30 April 2024. The Aged Care and Quality and Safety Commision are consulting on draft guidance resources to help providers, aged care workers and other stakeholders to understand the new strengthened Quality Standards and their roles and responsibilities in meeting them. Further draft resources will be available shortly that are specifically for older people receiving care and their representatives. Along with the new Aged Care Act, the strengthened Quality Standards are expected to be introduced from 1 July 2024. A client experience journey map is all about understanding the pain points and moments that matter from your client's point of view, and it's then about taking what we learn to improve the client experience, find efficiencies, avoid duplication, and innovate.
