I would like to extend my congratulations to our learners who found their match, and to the many administrators, faculty and staff members that play an important role in the Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS) matching process for our medical students. The local success rate on the first round match was 95%, which is in alignment with the national success rate. There were very few postgraduate programs at the University of Alberta that had unmatched positions, which speaks highly to the quality of our PGME programs, and we do anticipate those spots to be filled during the second round of CaRMS. ![]() COVID-19 UpdateOur primary concern is for the health and safety of the public and patients, learners, faculty and staff. We are following the recommendations of AHS, Alberta Health and the University of Alberta; as the situation is evolving rapidly, please refer to these sites for updated information. We are consulting directly with our education leads, AHS, and the University to make the necessary adjustments to the curriculum format and clinical experience. Le is one of four U of A researchers who received CIHR funding aimed at responding rapidly to the worldwide emergence of the new coronavirus. More Helping patients find their 'medical home'Small changes can make big differences in health care for marginalized groups, says clinical lead Dr. Julia Chronopoulos of Edmonton’s Rainbow Clinic. The challenges faced by these groups are what inspired Chronopoulos to help launch the Rainbow Clinic, a collaborative program, housed at the MacEwan University Health Centre in downtown Edmonton.
