Click here Kingston Three Waters Upgrades Newsletter #5 | January 2025 Updates on work to deliver new water supply, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure in Kingston. Next stage of water supply works underway Crews got back into action on Monday 20 January, working to install water supply infrastructure from the Kent Street intersection with State Highway 6 up to Glen Nevis Station Road, and then on to the future water treatment plant. Temporary stop/go is operating at the intersection of Kent Street and SH6 while trenching occurs close to the road. This will be removed when work shifts further into the shoulder of the highway from around Monday 3 February - a temporary speed limit will remain in place along a small section of SH6 to help keep crews and drivers safe. Please take extra care around the intersection of Kent Street and SH6, as this is a very busy area. Our teams on site are working as quickly as possible to get out of the way and to reinstate both lanes of the highway. An update on stormwater works Staff from Wilson Contractors have completed investigations for their upcoming stormwater works, which includes a new stormwater gallery outlet structure at the lake end of Oxford Street, and a large-diameter stormwater pipe running the length of Oxford Street. We’re working with Wilson Contractors to finalise their timeframes and will share what residents in Kingston can expect as part of these works as soon as possible. Got a question, or want to raise an issue? If you experience an urgent issue as part of these works, please report it immediately to QLDC by phoning 03 441 0499. General questions about this project can be emailed through to Kingston Community Association at threewatersupdates@kingstonca.org.nz. The Association will then work with QLDC to provide answers directly to those who have enquired, and the wider public where appropriate. |
