The Feather - August 2025 No images? Click here ![]() To My Fellow Arrowmen, I hope you all had an incredible summer season and are ready to jump back into normal life! Let’s continue having high spirits, excitement, and energy as we begin to close out this year. I along with our Lodge Advisor had the privilege to attend the National Council of Chiefs at Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico. We have come back from that event full of new ideas and new information that we will soon be able to share with you all! Our next event is our Summer Induction from September 5-7 at Cherokee Scout Reservation. We are always in need of Elangomats, Torch Bearers, and Nimats for our inductions. Lastly, anyone interested in attending either the National Leadership Seminar (NLS) or the Developing Youth Leadership Conference (DYLC) in December in Greensboro should register ASAP by clicking HERE! If finances are a barrier for you, please reach out to me and Rusty and we will help you in the best way we can. “Brothers, some have been found who are willing to spend themselves in serving others. Yet they have not felt the fire, they have not heard the Admonition, they have not seen the Arrow.” ~Meteu Yours in Brotherhood,
![]() Our next induction weekend will be the OA Fall Induction, September 5-7, at Cherokee Scout Reservation. The induction weekend (Ordeal) is the cornerstone of the Order of the Arrow (OA) experience. Every current and past member of the OA has participated in an Ordeal. To date, nearly 1 million Scouts and Scouters have participated in an Ordeal to become members of the order. Every induction weekend contains four key parts; service, taking a vow of silence, eating scant food, and spending a night away from others. All components of this weekend adhere to The Guide to Safe Scouting and are supervised by trained and qualified adults. For additional information and to register, click on the link below. Transition to BrotherhoodAfter 6 months of service as an Ordeal member and fulfilling certain requirements, a member may take part in the Brotherhood ceremony, which places further emphasis on the ideals of Scouting and the Order. Completion of this ceremony signifies full membership in the Order.
