Changeover to new MPI BACC Format – Friday 29 March

As you may know, over the last 2 and a half years, MPI has been undertaking a project to replace our main system for management of cargo and mail into NZ.

The aim of this project has primarily been a like for like replacement and therefore it should have very little impact on industry. Due to the nature of the different technology however – there will be minor changes to the look and feel of the BACC, and charges pre-invoice as well as the XMLs that are also sent.

From Friday 29 March:

  • The system-generated pre-invoice that you used to see with your BACCs will only be sent to the account holder associated with the charge account. This is so we can be certain that the invoicing data does not go to an unintended recipient. There are no changes to the existing full invoice process from our finance team.
  • “All Biosecurity requirements Met? NO” will no longer appear at the top of your BACC when there is an action outstanding on your consignment. You will need to read through the Authority Conditions on the BACC to see what is required.
  • When all the goods in a consignment are cleared and there are no outstanding requirements you will continue to see a “All Biosecurity Requirements Met? YES”

Examples of the new BACCs are below. We have highlighted the YES in the example so that you can see where this will be located if the consignment is cleared.
