A number of medical leaders and clinician educators attended the Canadian Conference on Medical Education (CCME), which was held in Niagara Falls, ON this year. It was a great showing of educational scholarship and creativity from our students, residents and faculty alike.Congratulations to all who presented posters, oral presentations and workshops. It was great to see the dean's reception buzzing with staff, alumni and current FoMD members. ![]() The past few weeks were also crucial as we reviewed our next cohort of students for the MD program. Our sincere thanks to the staff, students and faculty who dedicate so much time and effort into our admissions processes, and participate so fully on our Indigenous Admissions Sub-Committee, and the MD Admissions Committee. I know how much work is involved in the preparation and selection of candidates, and we are very grateful to those who volunteer hours of time to this important work. She will serve as President Elect for one year, as President for two years, and as Past President for one year. CAME’s Mission is “to promote, and advance and recognize excellence across the continuum of medical education in Canada.” Dr. Ross’ appointment will give our Faculty a strong voice to support the advancement of medical education in Canada. ![]() ![]() Connect Care Learner Training UpdateConnect Care Launches at the UAH campus in November 2019. Medical students and residents will have curriculum designed to meet their needs. We recognize that our learners will have different needs compared to staff physicians, which will be addressed by the curriculum development and delivery. New incoming residents and clinical fellows will be training on Connect Care instead of eClinician, just prior to their July 1 start date. Medical students in the Class of 2021 will be trained during Link Block (week of August 12) and the Class of 2020 will be trained about six weeks prior to “Go Live” in November.
