Working with Children Check - December 2025
Playgroup WA Annual Fun Day
Kirstyn O'Shea and Ava Oprandi, Senior Community Engagement Officers from the Community Engagement team attended the Playgroup WA Annual Fun Day on 25 November at Wanneroo Showgrounds. The annual event is aimed at families with children aged 0-5 years and, along with a lot of fun activities and entertainment, connects families with various community services.
Ava noted that it was "a fantastic opportunity for us to connect with families and promote our Have you Checked? message empowering parents and guardians to check WWC Card validity online when they are hiring babysitters, tutors, or party entertainers for their kids”.

2026 education schedule
With the end of the year fast approaching we have begun setting our education schedule for 2026.
We will continue to offer free online information sessions, the first of which have been released on Eventbrite.
We have 'Ready, Check' where you will learn all about the WWC Check and who needs it. And we have 'GO' that covers organisational obligations. Be sure to follow our Eventbrite page to be notified when we publish new events.
The team will continue to provide one-on-one Ready Check Chats with bookings via our Eventbrite page. And customised information sessions on request via email.
When does your Card expire?
Just a reminder for any card holders whose WWC Card is due to expire over the end of year break.
If you are going to be continuing in child-related work you need to ensure that you renew your Card before you or your organisation representative, who will verify it, commence any end of year leave.
You are able to renew your WWC Card up to three months before the expiry date.
