Unlike the supermarkets who had hot cross buns out the week after Christmas our Easter stock has not long arrived. We have the Remarkable Chocolate hollow eggs we have had in previous years, and some yummy treats from She Universe. The Hazel Egg Duos are the same recipe as their popular Hazel Heaven Batons, and new this year are small packs of 6 solid mini eggs. As the seasons change and the weather cools down nature reminds us that not everything is permanent. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the metal element governs Autumn, embodying the energy of letting go, refinement and organisation. It acts like a breath, aiding in releasing emotional and physical clutter—similar to trees shedding leaves—to create space for new inspiration. If change and letting go is hard for you we have plenty of mental and emotional support remedies available in the form of Bach Flowers, First Light Fern Essences and some of the blends from the First Light retail range. See us instore for more information about these. Have a great month everyone, look forward to seeing you soon. Our Vision At Bethlehem Health Shop, we support ethical suppliers and sell quality, researched products. We offer sincere advice from our team of caring, trained staff. Thank you so much for supporting your locally owned Community Health Store.
All of the above specials and offers are only valid while stocks last.

Southern Glow Tallow Cream Tallow is such an amazing moisture rich natural product. Southern Glow Tallow have done their best to keep their cream as natural as possible so it doesn't have any base fillers, additives or preservatives. The creams use 100% grass-fed tallow, which gives you better hydration, faster absorption, and a non-greasy, breathable finish. It’s kept simple. If you want a fragrance, look to the scented range, if you want as natural as possible, use the unscented range. Beef tallow for skin care is a nutrient-rich, old-time skincare ingredient that people have trusted for centuries. Instead of fake or plant-based moisturisers, tallow copies your skin's natural oils. As a result, it becomes one of the most effective and useful moisturisers available. Whipped Tallow Cream has fast absorption – sinking in easily without a greasy residue and is non-comedogenic so it never clogs pores, which makes it ideal for all skin types. It acts as a breathable moisture barrier whilst it locks in hydration while letting your skin function naturally. Tallow Cream is great for skin healing and hydration with its anti-inflammatory and deeply moisturising properties. Beef tallow for skin care works well for dry, flaky skin, sensitive & acne-prone skin, eczema and psoriasis. It deeply hydrates, softens rough patches, nourishes without clogging pores, helps calm irritation & supports skin barrier function. It is deeply nourishing and contains key vitamins like Retinol (Vitamin A),Vitamins D, E, K & B1; plus the fatty acids of conjugated Linoleic Acid & amino acids for optimal skin health. Together, these support skin hydration, repair, and renewal. Southern Glow Tallow make their whipped tallow cream in small batches to ensure the highest quality. They use pure, locally sourced, grass-fed tallow. As a result, you can experience simple, effective, and deeply nourishing skincare – just as nature intended.
Wellbeing. It’s a word we have become very familiar with in the health industry. But what does it really mean? From a holistic perspective, wellbeing is so much more than simply seeking good physical health. It is the nourishment of the complete person to thrive and be the best version of themselves with the resources available to them, through their lifestyle choices and behaviours. Since the 1970s, many have tried to reconcile wellbeing into easy to understand models and frameworks, to help people see patterns and priorities, and self-assess where they are at. The six dimensions of wellness were developed by one of the pioneers of wellbeing, Bill Hettler. The dimensions used as a basis for wellness were physical, spiritual, emotional, social, environmental and intellectual health. This has been reimagined many times over the years, and by the 2000s, a holistic view now includes financial and occupational wellness, along with a focus on a balance between all dimensions that is right for the individual - rather than looking for perfection in all areas. These 8 areas of wellness can be illustrated in a wellness wheel - as a visual guide for how your wellbeing is tracking, and identifying areas that may need cultivating. As a natural health practitioner, I like to return to the wellness wheel, as a reminder that it is not just physical health that brings us wellness.
We could be in the best physical health, but if our social or intellectual needs, for example, are not being met then we won’t feel our best. The optimal balance for our wellbeing may shift between dimensions throughout our lives, as one area becomes more important, or another drops out of focus. However, if we use the wellness wheel to bring awareness and conscious thought to each dimension of wellness, it can open up a new, holistic pathway to better wellbeing. The 8 dimensions of wellbeing: Emotional looks at how we understand and process our own emotions, both positive and negative. By growing awareness, we can better cope with change and challenges. Environmental includes valuing and caring for the world around you, making it a safe and healthy place to live. Financial is an awareness of your financial situation, and gathering knowledge to manage your money to the best of your ability, now and in the future. Intellectual is about curiosity, and how open you are to new ideas, learning, being creative and taking on new experiences. Occupational is included in the dimensions of wellbeing, as our daily work can help give us purpose, goals, connection and satisfaction. Physical includes how we look after our body through diet and lifestyle, sleep, exercise and stress management. Social involves creating space for meaningful connection with others; people to share and learn from. Spiritual looks at finding a sense of purpose and meaning in life, and aligning with values and beliefs that can guide you through life. A big, juicy tomato salad is a staple everyone should know how to make well! Rather than shaking up a dressing, sprinkle the garlic, shallots and salt straight onto the tomato wedges. Use everyday red tomatoes though if you can get them, heirloom tomatoes will add a great splash of colour. 4 ripe tomatoes (180g each) 1 1/2 tsp finely minced shallots or very finely minced red onions. 1/2 tsp finely minced garlic (use a knife, not garlic press) 1 tbsp white wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 3/4 tsp celtic or sea salt 2 pinches of black or white pepper 1 1/2 tbsp finely sliced basil leaves , plus extra for garnish
