Click here Plunge into Platypus Month!Logan waterways are home to one of Australia’s most iconic and elusive species, the platypus. In August, we celebrate Platypus Month to help create awareness of these egg-laying mammals. Not only have platypus been spotted along the Albert River by PlatypusWatch volunteers, but annual environmental DNA testing has also detected the presence of a species from a single drop of water. These monitoring programs are crucial in increasing our understanding of platypus distribution. Would you like to get involved in monitoring platypus, or find out more about our local population?
