Feature Facelift: Promote to Audiences
Outbound marketing is the most effective way to scale your referral program, and email is at its core. "Promote to Audiences" gives you full control over email targeting, timing, and personalization to ensure each marketing message has maximum impact.
Step 1
Upload your own audience via the "My Audiences" page—or use one of Extole's prebuilt audience segments.

Targeting ideas:
  • Advocates from the past year
  • Recent customers last 90 days
  • Most engaged customers
  • Top advocates
  • All eligible members
Step 2
Once you've selected an audience, click the blue "Email Audience" button in the upper righthand corner of the page. The promo email UI should open.  
Step 3
Select the correct program and campaign from the dropdown menus, then select the email you created for this audience. A mobile and desktop preview of the email will appear, plus an option to send yourself a test version before committing.
Step 4
Click "Send to All Recipients" once you're ready! You can track the email status as it sends; A confirmation will appear once sent.
Step 5
Track share and conversion activity for each individual email/audience in the "Promotions" section of the performance dashboard for the relevant campaign.
Pro tip: Pair your outbound email with a burst offer targeted to high-impact audience segments to increase engagement + drive referral conversions.

Our Europe-based Extolers celebrated International Women's Day last week with an afternoon of ceramics and team bonding at Creativity House in Chisinau — and the results speak for themselves. Advocacy & creativity reign at eTail Palm Springs
A flurry of thought-provoking conversations at eTail Palm Springs validated the continued need for  customer advocacy infrastructure across the retail industry.

Talking to leaders from top brands like Zumiez, Butcher Box, Ipsy, and Goodles made it clear that word of mouth has become a core growth channel. Butcher Box shared that they scaled to $500M largely through advocacy and creative offers like their “lifetime bacon” promotion.

The takeaway: brands understand the value of referrals, advocacy, and loyalty, but they need partners who make execution seamless and measurable.
