WHO/Europe launches Technical Advisory Group on Artificial Intelligence for Health

WHO/Europe has formed the Technical Advisory Group on Artificial Intelligence for Health (TAG-AI) to guide the ethical, responsible and equitable use of AI in health across the WHO European Region. The group will serve as an advisory body to the WHO Regional Director for Europe for an initial period of 2 years under the second European Programme of Work 2026–2030. Read more

Estonia’s effective policies in tackling noncommunicable diseases: lessons learned

Estonia has made remarkable progress in reducing premature mortality from noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) such as cardiovascular diseases and cancer. It is one of 10 Member States of the WHO European Region that have reached the 2025 NCD Global Monitoring Framework target of reducing premature mortality from NCDs by 25%.

Despite being a small country with limited resources, Estonia has demonstrated a level of commitment to evidence-based policies, cross-sectoral collaboration and public health interventions that offers invaluable lessons for the WHO European Region and beyond. Read more
