Cr John-Paul Baladi, Mayor of Strathfield

Dear Residents,

It was great to see Strathfield’s much loved active living event, Cooks River Fun Run, activate Freshwater Park on Sunday 22 June. I’d like to thank Racehub Australia and all volunteers who worked hard to bring this event back to life, which Council is proud to support.

If you have any suggestions or feedback you'd like to discuss with me directly, head over to Homebush Village (corner of Rochester St and Burlington Rd) for my next Mayoral Street Meeting on Sunday 20 July from 10am - 1pm.

My fellow Councillors and I are currently in Canberra attending the 2025 National General Assembly of Local Government. This year’s theme is ‘National Priorities Need Local Solutions’, and I look forward to discussing initiatives that fall under this theme with fellow Mayors and Councillors from around Australia.

As always, if you have a local concern or idea you’d like to share, you can reach me on 0478 054 241 or at cr.jpbaladi@strathfield.nsw.gov.au.

EOFY Notification regarding 603 Certificate 📰

Please Note that no 603 Certificates (Local Government Act 1993), also known as a rates certificate, will be processed or issued between 1–6 July 2025. This temporary pause is due to the unavailability of the updated Rates and Charges data for the 2025–2026 financial year.

While urgent 603 Certificate requests are typically processed within 24 hours, Strathfield Council will be unable to meet this timeframe during the suspension period. Processing of 603 Certificates will resume on Monday, 7 July 2025. Certificates will then be issued to customers once the updated Rates and Charges are in place.
