FOCUSWorkCover WA has implemented a targeted compliance and education campaign using intelligence data from the Australian Tax Office and Australian Business Register. Multiple channels are used to communicate with potential and current employers, with the aim to increase the number of employers who understand their duty to insure and take action to comply with their legal obligations. The new initiative is expected to decrease the number of uninsured employers in Western Australia, leading to better outcomes for injured workers. Stakeholder Engagement CharterThe WorkCover WA approach to making engagement meaningfulThe Stakeholder Engagement Charter sets out the Agency’s commitment to engagement. It signals our intent to better listen, inform, consult and involve all stakeholders. The Charter outlines our engagement values, and when, and in what circumstances engagement will occur. It also outlines how you can engage with WorkCover WA. and contribute to meaningful actions and outcomes. Bill Consultation UpdatePublic submissions now availableThe Workers Compensation and Injury Management Bill 2021 (Consultation Draft) was released for public consultation on 11 August 2021. A total of 86 submissions were received. WorkCover WA thanks all submitters for their contribution to the process of modernising WA’s workers compensation laws. 2022/23 Recommended Premium RatesNow available to downloadThe 2022/23 recommended premium rates for compulsory workers’ compensation insurance in Western Australia have been announced and come into effect on 30 June 2022 at 4pm. The average recommended premium rate for 2022/23 will be 1.822 per cent of total wages (up from the previous year’s 1.704 per cent). 2021 National Return to Work SurveyMeasuring return to work outcomesSafe Work Australia has released the results from the 2021 National Return to Work Survey. The survey measures the outcomes of injured workers, helping industry representative better understand injured worker experiences and the factors which influence their return to work.
