Statement from Mount Hotham Alpine Resort Management Board | 17 March 2020

Update from Mount Hotham Alpine Resort Management Board

Good afternoon,

The situation with  COVID-19 continues to change at a rapid pace. It is posing unprecedented challenges for the health and wellbeing of our communities. Mount Hotham Alpine Resort Management Board (MHARMB) is closely monitoring the progress of COVID-19 in Australia and especially in the north east of Victoria.

MHARMB continues to make preparations for the 2020 winter season and we will keep the community up-to-date with any planned changes to our operations and preparation for the winter season.

MHARMB are adhering to the information and advice provided by the Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) and working closely with the other Alpine Resorts and State Government in our information gathering, planning and preparations.

It is worth referring directly to the DHHS website for more information about the virus and good hygiene practices: https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus

The Victorian Chief Health Officer has recommended workplaces begin to test their processes for working remotely and as such we will use this week to set systems and processes in place to enable staff involved in activities other than our essential resort services – like waste, water, sewerage and gas – to work from home.

MHARMB will continue to provide updates as further information becomes available.
