It’s all about the power of partnership … When it comes to supporting education officials on their journey of data-driven decision-making, our EMIS colleagues at a provincial and national level deserve special recognition. Technology is a tough space – even on a good day – with rapid change and a constant juggle between limited resources, infrastructure, and the need to keep officials online, up to speed and well supported. To all the EMIS colleagues and DBE officials who have worked so hard to help test and roll-out the new Valistractor, we salute you! Thank you for playing such a crucial role in building a truly data-driven education system for our country. 	Every new year seems to start with people striving to get into shape and to improve their “measurements”. Well, we think you are off to an excellent start because your activity statistics on the DDD Dashboard in recent months are looking pretty good. Here’s the low-down:
	MORE USERS   MORE ACTIVITY   BACK AGAIN!   READY TO FLEX? We started the year with more than 30 000 registered DDD users (compared to only 20 000 this time last year).   We’ve seen a peak in active usage in recent months with 8 092 users logging in, in a single term (the most to date)!   We also hit a high in repeat usage with 4 277 users logging in to the dashboard in multiple consecutive terms.   An impressive 6 793 officials are ready to flex their learning muscles, having logged into the Learning Hub to train.
	DDD PROGRESS
	The highlight of the past few weeks is the launch of the new Valistractor – a significantly improved tool for submitting your SA-SAMS data to the DDD Dashboard. It’s more efficient, more automated – and it’s ready for you! A HUGE thank you goes to the nearly 350 education officials who participated in Valistractor testing over the past six months, and to all the EMIS teams for their ongoing support in ensuring the roll-out is a success.
	ARE YOU THERE YET? Get the new Valistractor   28 FEB IS CUT-OFF TIME Don’t be caught short   IT’S YOUR CALL … Review & rate DDD From 7 February SA-SAMS and DDD users can download and install the new Valistractor. EMIS teams are engaging with offline schools to assist where needed. More than 180 schools have already submitted data via the new app. Are you one of them? Click below to start:   To give you time to practise using the new Valistractor before end-of-term 1 data is due, both the old and new versions will run in parallel, but only until end February. If you try to access the old Valistractor after that, you will not be able to continue, and will be prompted to download the PDF installation instructions instead.   DDD’s Insights and Innovation team is inviting active users to review and rate features of the dashboard to see where we can make these work better for you, while improving the speed of the platform. 	After attending a recent webinar, Ms Mafiri added that being able to use the apps on mobile phone is especially valuable, in the absence of a laptop.   Mr Moleleki highlights that accurate performance analysis has proven to be key to planning and implementing relevant, suitable interventions that improve learner results.   Responding to a recent feedback survey, Mrs Smangele says that she rates the dashboard as “excellent”, adding that there is much to be learnt from the tool.
