The NEERO Board looks forward to welcoming members, presenters, attendees, and invited guests to the NEERO 2022 Conference, "Expanding Equity in Educational Research" April 6 - 8, 2022 at the Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel and virtually via zoom. 

All conference registrants will have access to the in-person and virtual events at the NEERO 2022 Conference. Please check the NEERO 2022 Conference program to identify which events will take place in-person, virtually, or both. 

Zoom links for the virtual conference components will be shared with registrants next week via email and Eventbrite. 

Please reach out to the NEERO Board if you have questions or concerns. We look forward to another productive and inspiring conference focused on expand equity in educational research.  

What to Expect 

The NEERO Board is taking safety at the NEERO 2022 conference seriously. After careful consideration, we have implemented the following measures to promote the health and wellbeing of attendees and staff:

• Masks will be required for all in-person conference events, except when presenting or actively eating. 
• NEERO session and events will be set-up to follow social distancing recommendations. 
• To minimize risk, all food served as part of the NEERO 2022 Conference will either be individually packaged or served by employees of the Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel.

While the NEERO Board is requiring masks for in-person conference events, the Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel does not require masks for hotel staff and visitors. 

What to Prepare & Bring

• All NEERO 2022 in-person conference attendees will be required to confirm vaccination status and/or negative COVID-19 test results within 24 hours of conference attendance through an electronic attestation form. 
• Masks will be required for participation in all in-person NEERO events, except when presenting or actively eating. 

The NEERO 2022 Conference will include: invited keynote speakers and panels; accepted paper, poster, research-in-progress roundtable and symposium presentations; awards celebration and presentation; business meeting; and informal gatherings and opportunities to connect with fellow conference participants. 

The NEERO Board has organized several networking and social opportunities throughout the conference. 

Graduate Student Pre-Conference Virtual Networking

• Wednesday, April 6, 2022
• Time: 9:30 - 10:30am
• Location: via zoom

Join us for online Speed Networking to meet and greet your 2022 NEERO colleagues! This event is hosted by the NEERO Graduate Committee.

• Session will begin with an overview of the event.
• Active participation in Speed Networking for all attendees.
• During Speed Networking segment, participants will be randomly paired in breakout rooms to meet/greet, share research interests, future plans, etc.
• Remainder of segment will rotate new pairs of participants to engage in conversation.
• A group wrap-up and information for upcoming events will end the session.
• The goal is to create a welcoming community, facilitate professional networking, and kick off the 2022 conference with a little fun.

Trivia Night at the Thirsty Moose Tap House

• Time: 6:35 PM in the Sheraton Lobby or 7:00 PM at the Thirsty Moose
• Location: 21 Congress Street - Portsmouth, NH
• Cost: Free for Trivia; Drinks & Food available for purchase

Please join the NEERO Social Committee for trivia night at a local restaurant in Portsmouth. We will gather at 6:45 PM in the lobby of the Sheraton Portsmouth, after the Rubovits presentation, and proceed to the establishment. This event is open to all members of the NEERO community. You are welcome to bring guests, colleagues and family members as well. It is an opportunity to meet colleagues and to establish new connections within NEERO! 

NEERO Table Talk In-Person Networking 

• Thursday, April 7
• Time: 9:00 - 10:15am
• Location: Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel, Harbor's Edge Room
• Cost: Free for NEERO conference registrants

Learn about NEERO committees and ways to get involved. Network tables include the NEERO Graduate Committee, NEERO Circles Committee, and NEERO Board. Continue conversations from prior NEERO Circles on the Research-Practice Gap and how to become a book author. This event is hosted by the NEERO Board. 

NEERO Reception

• Thursday, April 7
• Time: 4:45 - 5:45pm
• Location: Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel, Ballroom
• Cost: Free for NEERO conference registrants

Enjoy complimentary drinks and appetizers. Mingle with fellow NEERO conference attendees! Talk educational research and more! This event is hosted by the NEERO Board. 

Board & Brush Creative Studio

• Thursday, April 7, 2022
• Time: 6:15 in the Sheraton Lobby or 6:30 PM at the Studio
• Location: 33 Deer Street, Suite 4A - Portsmouth, NH
• Cost: $40 and up; advance registration required

The NEERO Social Committee arranged for a private event at a local artist studio. If you are interested in a unique evening filled with good company and the opportunity to create a unique wooden piece, please join us! Just bring your creativity and a willingness to learn and you will build a wooden sign piece from scratch that is worthy of your walls. This event is open to all members of the NEERO community. We will gather in the Lobby of the Sheraton at 6:15 PM, after the NEERO Reception, and walk to the studio. 

At the studio's request, participants need to register and select a project in advance. You can choose from a range of projects (e.g., farmhouse trays, signs, etc.). You can register online with the password NEERO47 with the link below:
