The Edmonton Interfaith Housing Gathering we were a part of in April was very successful. Lewis Cardinal was our guest speaker and had an engaging talk about how houselessness is more than “a place to sleep”. Our postdoctoral fellow, Shelisa Klassen, had a fantastic Lunch & Learn about gender, race and respectability in Manitoba Newspapers in the 1870’s. Most recently, we partnered with the Faculty of Native Studies and held a workshop titled “Critical Indigenous Theory in the Study of Religion,” which was supported by SSHRC and KIAS. We invited religious scholars and students from Canada & the US to talk about what it means to be a good relative as scholars of religion. We are excited to expand on our time spent together fostering these new relationships. As we look forward to Midsummer, we hope you have a rejuvenating and enjoyable summer season. Sincerely, Joseph R. Wiebe Have you met...Gail Stolee, Advisory CommitteeGail has been an active participant in the programs of the Chester Ronning Centre since its inception.
