Wishing You a Safe HolidayIt has been a busy start to the 2023 school year and I hope our students all enjoy a well-deserved break. I spent some time in the Boarding House last night, and the energy from our boarders was palpable as they begin their journeys back home. We look forward to seeing our families safely return for Term 2.

Start of Term 2School begins for all Senior School students on Wednesday 26 April at 8.35 am. Our students are to attend their House Tutor Groups to sign in with their House Tutor, before attending a special ANZAC Day Service in our Junior School Swim and Recreation Centre (SRC). This will be a formal-whole school service and your daughter/s will require a Senior School tie.  On Friday 28 April, we will also be holding our Inter-House Cross Country Carnival. All students who are able to are required to participate. It is a great way to show House
spirit and earn House points.

Years 11 and Year 12 ExaminationsIn weeks 2 and 3 of Term 2, we have our Years 11 and 12 examinations. During this time, there will be no classes for Years 11 or 12 running, however, if your daughter would like to come to school to study or to meet with teachers, she is welcome to sign into either the Library or the Year 12 Common Room. We ask that if she is on campus she is in her correct school uniform. If your daughter is sitting examinations, please make sure she has read her examination timetable correctly and that she arrives with plenty of time (half an hour before her examination is
recommended). The Lighthouse will be open in the mornings and afternoons for any students who would like a quiet place to focus before their examinations, and I hope your daughter takes advantage of this if she would like to.

Term 2 School UniformNext term, we ask that all our Senior School students remain in their summer uniform until Mid-Term Break. Often there are still very warm days at this time of year and we want to make sure that all our students are comfortable. On cooler days during this period, students always have the option of wearing their jumper and blazer to help keep them warm. The Uniform Shop will be open for bookings only, from 8.00 am until 4.00 pm on Monday 24 April for any last-minute purchases of uniform items. The online store is always open for Click and Collect during normal shop opening hours. Amelia Awarded For Excellence in MusicAmelia Corbett (Year 9) has received two outstanding awards at the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) annual awards ceremony last Sunday for her excellence in piano and trumpet.  In most instances, students undergo one AMEB exam a year on one instrument. However, last year, Amelia sat three AMEB exams on three different instruments, and received an A+ for two of her exams; Piano for Leisure (Comprehensive) - Grade 3 and Trumpet (Repertoire) - Grade 4.  Congratulations, Amelia!
