Throwback Thursday The Weatherly Sisters We celebrate International Women’s Day with the story of the Weatherly Sisters, Gaga (Zaida) and Toots (Queenie) who travelled the world with their parents as vaudeville and circus performers, specialising in singing, dancing, mimicry and contortionist routines. Gaga even appeared in a number of silent films with her parents. The newspapers followed their careers over many years and with the advent of television they later appeared on programs including the Mike Walsh and Don Lane Shows. They ‘retired’ to Margaret Street, Strathfield during the 1960s although they continued to perform in hospitals and nursing homes into their seventies.
