The launch of Street Festival 2140 is finally here. The rain has started to ease so it's time get outside and enjoy a party on the streets of Homebush West. Come join us tomorrow night for some streetside dining, roving perfomers, market stalls, kids activities and live art!

Strathfield Council including the Customer Service Centre and Library and Innovation Hub, will be closed for an industry holiday on Friday 11 March. Council is available for emergencies 24/7 on 9748 9999.

Our remaining 2021/2022 Movies in the Park screenings have been cancelled due to wet weather and the introduction of Street Festival 2140 on Sat 12 and Sat 26 March. Come join us there instead!

Recycle them instead at retailers across Sydney (including Woolies, Aldi and Bunnings). Batteries can cause fires in your bins so take them with you on your next grocery run and keep yourself safe!

Waste Collection Delay

Waste collection  may be delayed by a few hours on Fri 11 - Tues 14 March, due to accessing landfills in flooded areas. If your collection day falls in this period, be sure to put your bins out as usual and do not bring them in until they are emptied, which may be mid-late afternoon.

Throwback Thursday

The Weatherly Sisters

We celebrate International Women’s Day with the story of the Weatherly Sisters, Gaga (Zaida) and Toots (Queenie) who travelled the world with their parents as vaudeville and circus performers, specialising in singing, dancing, mimicry and contortionist routines. Gaga even appeared in a number of silent films with her parents. The newspapers followed their careers over many years and with the advent of television they later appeared on programs including the Mike Walsh and Don Lane Shows. They ‘retired’ to Margaret Street, Strathfield during the 1960s although they continued to perform in hospitals and nursing homes into their seventies.
