Throwback Thursday Maudholme Estate Subdivided in 1908, the 20 lots of the Maudholme Estate were auctioned during April 1908 by Batt, Rodd and Purves. Situated between Liverpool Road and Punchbowl Road (now Coronation Parade), the estate was advertised as ‘Strathfield Heights’ ‘on the highest ridge between Sydney and Parramatta’. The Estate was within ‘easy walking distance of either the Strathfield or Burwood railway stations,’ while the Enfield to Burwood tram also conveniently ran along Punchbowl Road. Twelve lots were initially sold. Most of the federation cottages built still stand today at 29-49 Coronation Parade and 388-406 Liverpool Road (Hume Highway). Maudholme Estate subdivision plan, 1908.
