Welcome to the Latest Edition of the Lymphoma Australia Community Newsletter

September was a big month with World Lymphoma Awareness Month and Go LIME. A huge thank you to everyone who went LIME to raise much needed funds and awareness for Lymphoma.

This September, our Go LIME campaign brought together patients, carers, healthcare professionals, hospitals, oncology units, and community members to raise awareness and funds to support the vital work of our Specialist Lymphoma Care Nurses for people affected by Lymphoma.

Together we've raised $31,856.11 (so far)!

Dee hosted a Go LIME Afternoon Tea at work, raising funds and spreading awareness among colleagues.

"I was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma in 2024 and have drawn on the support of Lymphoma Australia from the very start of this journey, through to remission and beyond. Lymphoma Australia made a world of difference for me as a patient, and I want that experience for everyone going through this. You're not alone."

Special shout-out to those who raised over $300 on their individual fundraising page and received a Go LIME T-shirt! Send us a photo at fundraise@lymphoma.org.au we'd love to share your celebrations.

New Treatments for Lymphoma are on the way!

⚠️ Australia has a complex regulatory process to follow before we can have new treatments available in Australia. However, it is pleasing to report that the following therapies have been recommended by the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee at their July meeting for listing on the PBS.

The inclusion of these treatments as a potential therapy for eligible subtypes could make a significant difference in outcomes for some patients.

Whilst this does not mean we have patient access (yet) it is a big step forward.

💚Acalabrutinib (in combination with bendamustine and rituximab, ABR) for the first line treatment of Stage III or IV MCL in patients who are ineligible for stem cell transplantation

💚 ADCETRIS® (brentuximab vedotin) in combination with doxorubicin, vinblastine and dacarbazine (A+AVD) for the first-line treatment of advanced (Stage III/IV) Hodgkin lymphoma

💚 Glofitamab (in combination with gemcitabine and oxaliplatin (Glofit-GemOx), for the treatment of patients with RR DLBCL who have received one or more lines of systemic therapy and are unable to receive autologous stem cell transplant (ASCT) or chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) cell therapy.

Lymphoma Australia will keep our community updated as they are processed in our HTA system.
