Say we fumigate but it doesn’t load onto the vessel for 6 weeks because of rail delays and the booking being rolled several times. Is there a timeframe where New Zealand would require this be fumigated again? Response For the fumigated fully enclosed container ex USA there is no timeframe from the point of fumigation to when it is loaded on to vessel. Containers must remain closed, vents sealed after fumigation has taken place (unless for FAK containers where it is necessary to load other goods into the FAK container). This information can be found in section 9.1.2. Topic 2 – New machine parts , rubber components Enquiry Can you please confirm that no fumigation is required for a shipment of Rubber Milking Machine Teat Cup liners from the USA? My understanding from section 6.3 of the VMP IHS is that they complete a manufacturers declaration that the goods have been stored indoors until loading then treatment is not required. Response Correct, if you can provide a manufacturers declaration as per 6.3.1 (2) New Parts for a Vehicle or Machine then no fumigation is required. If you’re a regular importer of the above, you may apply for an MPI Approved System that could be used for future imports.
