New Zealand Customs Service has recently updated and introduced new online forms for personal importation of household goods and online shopping. NZCS 263 is to be completed for importers bringing in /or receiving into New Zealand online shopping, purchases, gifts, or any other items that have been sent to them from overseas. NZCS 218 is to be completed if the importer is coming to, or has arrived in New Zealand, either for the first time or after having been overseas and is wishing to bring back personal household items. This form is to be completed by the person owning the goods and who is bringing the items back to New Zealand. Bringing personal household items The MPI supplementary declaration (MPI website) has also been reviewed and is available as an online form. The MPI supplementary form should accompany the NZCS 218 form. Importers on the MPI website are advised of the following: If you're sending goods that may be a biosecurity risk, it's recommended you fill out a personal effect’s supplementary declaration. This voluntary declaration provides more information about specific items and could change the risk status of your consignment. Filling out the supplementary declaration may lead to reduced clearance costs and faster clearance times. MPI may verify that personal effects declarations match personal effects cargo imported into New Zealand. Personal effects - supplementary declaration
