All submissions received were in favour of the changes. The following minor and technical updates came into effect on 12 May 2021:
Update to the prioritisation of amendments and associated penaltiesETS participants must ensure their emissions returns are correct before they are submitted. Amending an incorrect emissions return takes a significant amount of time, and penalties may apply. These penalties were outlined in the January 2021 issue of the Sustainable Forestry Bulletin. Te Uru Rākau New Zealand Forest Service processes amendments to incorrect emissions returns in the order they are received. We are unable to act on requests for urgent processing of amendments even if a participant has a contracted deadline to on-sell any unit entitlement.
