Studies show that nearly half of all Americans, 49%, report frequently experiencing stress, up 16 points over the past two decades. At LCHC, we offer behavioral health resources and support groups to help individuals manage stress more effectively. Together, we can work toward building healthier habits and finding better ways to cope. Children's Health Services at LCHCAt LCHC, we’re here to support your child’s health every step of the way. We offer a range of services from well-child checkups and immunizations to school and sports physicals. If your child isn’t feeling well, we’ve got same-day sick visits and an Immediate Care clinic. Plus, our dental and optometry teams help keep your kids' smiles and eyes in great shape. Contact your care team to book an appointment today. What's happening in Lawndale? Get to Know Our ProvidersHaakon Nelson, MD - Family Medicine Resident Physician Dr. Haakon Nelson is a family medicine resident physician who first connected with Lawndale Christian Health Center during a student rotation, where he was drawn to its mission of holistic, community-rooted care. A graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, he was inspired to pursue medicine by his love for science and a desire to serve others. At LCHC, he walks closely with patients through both physical and emotional challenges, empowering them with education and presence. Dr. Nelson shares, "I really enjoy getting to know patients and hearing their stories." He is especially passionate about caring for older adults and values the continuity and relationships that come with primary care. Guided by faith, Dr. Nelson sees each patient as made in the image of God and considers prayer and spiritual connection an important part of healing. Dr. Nelson says, “I hope that I can bring a sense of calm into challenging situations and really connect with my patients, no matter what they’re going through.” Family Medicine Residency ProgramPlease join us in welcoming our newest Family Medicine Resident Physicians who will officially begin their training with us this July!
