NAIDOC Week 2026 - 50 Years DeadlyNAIDOC week takes place in the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday) and this year runs from 5 through to 13 July. NAIDOC week is an opportunity for all Australians
to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth. This year NAIDOC Week marks 50 years of honouring the voices, cultures and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The 2026 theme is '50 Years Deadly'. Helping Congregations Take the Next Step Towards Net ZeroLooking to reduce energy costs, improve your property and support the Uniting Church’s Net Zero commitment? The new Missional Property Fund Net Zero Grant offers funding of up to 80% of project costs for places of worship and up to 50% for manses. Eligible projects include solar panels, batteries, lighting upgrades, insulation, replacing gas appliances and more. The Uniting Church WA Synod and Presbytery are also taking practical steps on our Net Zero journey, including installing a new solar and battery system at the Edward St Office and committing to electric vehicles for future fleet cars. Our first electric vehicle is now in use – driving change, once charge at a time. Net Zero is about more than property. It's a hopeful expression of our faith: caring for God’s creation, supporting future generations and using the resources entrusted to us wisely. Click below to learn more and apply today! Good Sammy - Containers for Change ExpansionExpanding Containers for Change is a win for WA’s economy, environment and community. Good Sammy Enterprises CEO Kane Blackman shares why the expansion of the Containers for Change program in WA is a positive development for Western Australians who benefit from the jobs, opportunities and community outcomes the scheme creates. Good Sammy are WA's largest social enterprise, container recycler and disability employer in the Scheme. Safe Church Awareness WorkshopsThere are two Safe Church Awareness Workshops coming up in July. St Stephen's Uniting Church, Uniting Church WA Centre, All ministers, pastors, church leaders, volunteers, members of congregations and those involved in community services are welcome and urged to attend.
