Note from the RE For many of you, it's been long time no talk or see, and for that, I'm sorry - I miss so many of you! This has been one crazy year for me, and thankfully the second half of the year is shaping up to be a lot better than the beginning of the year. Between changes in my personal life and having continued issues with my broken arm/hand, I'm not able to drive my car in anger, and would probably end up with me driving more slowly than normal...which I think we can all say would be considered "grocery
getting" and not "racing". I am doing well, and so is the unofficial Susquehanna canine mascot Josie - she got spayed in July, and somehow that hasn't slowed her down...but we are happy and healthy, and in the end, that's what matters. I am hoping to come out to an event sometime soon - maybe one of the last events this season, and I will absolutely love to see you all and get back to my new normal. Hope to be out and about, and see you all soon. Until then... Keep it Classy Susquehanna
Melissa

Williamsport Area Motorsports Artist:
Simon WardIf any of you were at the banquet and noticed the puzzles at the raffle station, they were puzzles based on paintings done by a British artist, Simon Ward. He’s residing in Williamsport, and made friends with my Dad. Simon reached out to me because he knows I’m involved in motorsports, and I wanted to pass his information along. Here are the photos he’s done in the past. He is available to work on commission if anyone is interested. Here’s a few links for him, and his email address is: simon46ward@gmail.com

Inside Rallycross - The Early DaysAUG 8, 2024 — While planning to write an article on the origins of RallyCross, I asked one of our long time Utah Region members, Karl Sealander, if he had any insights he could share. Amazingly, he pulled out an issue of SportsCar magazine from June 1998 with what is probably one of the first articles on SCCA RallyCross. It was fascinating
DC Region’s Betty Harrison, Recipient of SCCA’s Registration Worker of the Year AwardAUG 9, 2024 — Betty Harrison’s introduction to SCCA came in a roundabout way. A friend of hers who also had a horse was married to an SCCA racer. Her friends and another racing couple arranged a blind date for Harrison with a fellow who was also a racer. She says, “It just snowballed from there.” Not someone who can just sit around, Harrison was soon torquing wheels and reminding her beau to
set his tire pressures – she became a crew member during the second race she attended, joining SCCA in 1998.
Romulus '24 National TourAUG 6, 2024 — This is the story of starship SCCA on its never-ending mission to explore strange new autocross worlds, seek out thrilling new experiences, and boldly cone like no driver has coned before. SCCA Solo landed in Romulus, NY, not the planet from Star Trek – for an Aug. 2-4, 2024, rendezvous with fun at Seneca Army Depot during the Romulus Solo National Tour.
Pitt Race Time Trials National Tour & Track Night Is a Thrill Ride You Don’t Want to MissAUG 15, 2024 — Way back in May when we announced the opening of registration for the Aug. 24-25, 2024, Tire Rack SCCA® Time Trials National Tour at Pitt Race Powered by Hagerty, we talked about what a thrill ride the Pitt Race
circuit is. That part is true.We also talked about Pittsburgh natives George Ferris and Jeff Goldblum – both of which, we can now confirm, will not be attending the Time Trials despite earlier rumors to the contrary (note – those rumors were never true).
