Weekly Advice for Safeguarding Medicaid

The National Health Law Program has launched Timely Tips to Safeguard Medicaid, a weekly resource to help advocates stay informed as federal and state Medicaid policies continue to evolve.

Medical Disenrollment Among Young Adults

As youth transition into adulthood, changes in health coverage can put them at risk of losing insurance. This risk is especially serious for young adults with complex medical needs.

A new JAMA Pediatrics study led by the University of Chicago examined Medicaid disenrollment around age 19 across 46 states and Washington, D.C. The findings highlight significant coverage gaps during the transition to adulthood, with variation by state and by condition.

New DHCS Web Pages on Federal Changes to Medi-Cal

The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) has launched new web pages to help counties, health plans, providers, and community partners track federal actions affecting Medi-Cal, including H.R. 1.

The site includes updates on eligibility, benefits, behavioral health, Section 1115 waivers, and more, and outlines how California plans to implement required changes while minimizing disruption.

Together for Wellness: Free Emotional Health Resources for Youth

Together for Wellness offers a free digital wellness website for youth in California, featuring trusted emotional health resources including hotlines, apps, videos, and websites.

Resources are available in 13 languages and cover topics such as immigration, substance use, relationships and sexual wellness, and emotional and family wellbeing.
