AUGUST 2024 NEWSLETTER

Hello!

As Melbourne shivers through a very, very cold winter I continue to be busy in the hopes that things will get warmer as spring approaches. Business has held up very well and I have had some very interesting commissions of late.

People always say to me that I am always thinking, which reminds me of the Morganite necklace I showed you a few months ago. Despite being unusual I felt it needed a bit of a lift and so having some wonderful button shaped South Sea pearls in my collection, I decided to recreate the rope into a shorter necklace spaced with these button shaped pearls. I am very happy with the transformation so watch this space for what I will create with the remaining beads.

This reminds me that if you have any pieces lying around, why not email or text me a picture or two and let’s see what I can come up with, in making your pieces more wearable too.

In the media

I was interviewed by Trevor Chappell on ABC Radio 774 twice last month. The first was at the Uniting Age Well Strathdon Community aged care facility, Forest Hill where Maggie Beer's Big Mission was filmed. It was a wonderful afternoon with both staff and residents showing me pieces that I had to then tell them about.

The second interview, this time by phone, was again by Trevor where we talked about buying jewellery from overseas and how one needs to be confident and careful about making such a purchase.

Finally as many of you know I not only love a good brooch but also French paste jewellery. I came across this wonderful brooch the other day and have been wearing it quite often. It’s the colour that really caught my eye and this too can be found online in my collection.
