2025 Day of Mourning ResourcesThe 2025 Day of Mourning liturgy and resources for Sunday 19 January are now available. Since 2019 the Uniting Church has marked a Day of Mourning on the Sunday before 26 January to reflect on the dispossession and ongoing injustices faced by Australia’s First Peoples, acknowledge our shared history and renew our commitment to justice and healing. The 2025 Day of Mourning liturgy and resource has been developed by Muth arrak, the Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress in Queensland. This is the first
significant update to the resource since 2019. Image by Guwa Koa and Kuku Yalanji woman Zoe Belle.
Ride the Wild WaterRev Andy Broadbent reflects on the themes of Summer Spirit 2025 - Ride the Wild Water, Navigating the Way. "In the 1990s, surf wear giant Billabong launched a memorable advertising campaign with the slogan, “Only a surfer knows the feeling.” Even as a somewhat average surfer, I can attest to the truth of that statement—riding a wave is an indescribable thrill!" Article by Rev Andy Broadbent, first published in the December 2024 edition of Revive magazine.
