In this edition of Revive we're featuring stories from some of our congregations who are finding ways to reach out and support their local communities in a variety of creative and practical ways. There's also a post-referendum pastoral message from our Moderator, an article on the new Uniting Church WA Disability Access and Inclusion Policy as well as stories from some of our Agencies and Schools, and much more!
If you don't attend a congregation, you can also pick up a copy from most Good Sammy stores, or email revive@wa.uca.org.au and we'll get one out to you. It will also be available online later this week - Happy Reading!

  • World Council of Churches - Global Climate Action spotlight: Faith actors' crucial role echoes at COP28.  "In a COP28 side event at the Global Climate Action pavilion, WCC general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay delivered a powerful message on the vital role of faith actors in driving practical and impactful climate action across the globe."
  • On the Road to the 17th Assembly - The 17th triennial meeting of the Assembly of the Uniting Church will take place from 11-16 July, 2024, in Sydney

  • Reflections on the Pacific Household of Faith - A report from the 12th General Assembly of the Pacific Conference of Churches

  • Juniper - Joan and Harry's Adventure with Dementia - "When Joan was diagnosed with dementia in her early 50s, she and her husband Harry embarked on an “adventure with dementia” and set off in their caravan with a mission to embrace life to the fullest."

  • UnitingWA Christmas Appeal - Make a difference to children like Chloe.  In June 2022 there were 4,394 children in out-of-home care in Western Australia. Your gift this Christmas can help us support vulnerable children like Chloe.

  • Christmas Services - A reminder that Congregations have the opportunity to add their Christmas services to the Uniting Church WA Christmas Events calendar by 10.00am, Wednesday 13 December. Submit your event or service for approval online or email Wendy at website@wa.uca.org.au 

  • Surplus of Together in Song Hymn Books and Uniting in Worship Books.  All Saints Floreat Uniting Church has 80 copies each of the Together in Song Australian Hymn Book II and Uniting in Worship book.  All books are in used but good condition.  They would be happy to donate them to any church or organisation that would like them.  Please contact office@allsaintsfloreat.com.au

  • Uniting Church Centre Christmas Celebration - the Uniting Church Centre at Edward St, Perth will close at 11.45am on Tuesday 5 December as the staff celebrate Christmas together.  Our doors will be back open on Wednesday morning 9.00am.

Assembly General Secretary
Applications are now open for the Assembly's next General Secretary. We are seeking a person who is passionate about the national life of the Uniting Church. The person will be a member of the Uniting Church who has skills and experience in leading change, governance and staff management. They will need to be able to reflect theologically on the work of the Assembly and give general leadership to the Church. The next General Secretary will be committed to working with the Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress, skilled at working with diverse groups of people, be collaborative and resilient.
