snapshot of events taking place this autumn: *THIS WEEK* Wednesday's Harmful Behaviour Risk Assessments seminar, taking place between 10:30 - 15:30, will look at how to best respond in accordance with ISI 2023 guidelines when an individual case of harmful behaviour has been identified. Increase your confidence and knowledge of a broad range of contemporary safeguarding concerns at our DSL Level 3 Certificate for Educational Guardians course taking place on November 21, 09:30 - 16:30. Maria Putz, Interim Head of Training (Sexual Violence and Safeguarding), LimeCulture CIC, will be leading our Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence seminar on November 26. This year’s SACPA and BSA Annual Safeguarding Conference on November 27 promises to bring a day packed with expert speakers from a range of disciplines and perspectives who aim to inform, challenge, and invigorate delegates on a range of key and contemporary safeguarding topics and learning.

DBS Checks (England, Wales, Channel Islands, Isle of Man)
The Disclosure and Barring Service has announced that the cost of a DBS check will rise on December 2, 2024. An Enhanced DBS with barred list check will cost £49.50 compared to £38 now, plus any additional cost added by the umbrella body who might complete the check on your behalf. Exploring Identity and Intersectionality Conference, November 25, 2024
This online conference, hosted by BSA and IELA will navigate and understand intersectionality, alongside a line up of esteemed EDI speakers in the education sector. Sessions will create a positive and supportive environment for EDI leaders to learn and share best practice whilst identifying helpful strategies for supporting mental health and inclusion. Sacpa member safeguarding practice forums are free networking events for SACPA members and part of the SACPA mission to bring safeguarding leaders and practitioners together for mutual support and learning. Each month safeguarding leads, practitioners, senior leaders, trustees and governors to meet online to network around a specific safeguarding theme.
Online contexts are now a key feature of all safeguarding topics. This webinar explores the online contexts linked to three key safeguarding topics. What should we be looking out for, what responses should we be preparing, and how can we minimise harm whilst supporting children and young people to get the best out of the online world.
The SACPA Advanced Certificate in Child Safeguarding Practice
This certificate programme for safeguarding managers and leads, heads of safeguarding, safeguarding hub managers and co-ordinators. It has been developed to support safeguarding colleagues from a diversity of sectors to supplement and extend designated safeguarding lead training.
