Colorectal Cancer Awareness March is national colorectal cancer awareness month! Here at LCHC, we encourage you to get screened for colorectal cancer routinely, beginning at age 45. Your provider can offer recommendations and resources which could help reduce your risk of colorectal cancer by up to 95%. You can also complete your screening at home with a FIT kit provided by LCHC. Your colorectal health is important to us and if detected early, colorectal cancer is very treatable. Call your care team and schedule your screening today! Get to Know Our ProvidersTeneshia Auston, FNPTeneshia Auston, FNP, has called the Lawndale community home her entire life. She marvels at the emergence of LCHC and the positive impact it has on her community. Teneshia's interest in being a Nurse Practitioner began after her beloved father, who was only 56, passed away due to complications from diabetes. She believes that if her father had adequate resources and knowledge about diabetes, his condition could have been manageable. Teneshia is determined to be the provider she wishes her father had, and encourages a healthier lifestyle for her patients. Teneshia believes in an open and honest provider-patient relationship. "When I come to work I understand that my mission is about God and serving his people," Teneshia said. She feels blessed to support patients in the community she's rooted in and plans to use her expertise to provide patients with quality care. She says, "I take how I treat God's people very seriously. It's a privilege for me to take care of my patients. I want them to know that at the time that they're coming to see me, they are my priority and their care is my priority." Want to join our team?
