Affordable Housing Bond Aggregator (AHBA)

Purpose: Housing Australia provides low-cost finance to registered community housing providers (CHPs) for social and affordable housing projects via the AHBA.  To apply for an AHBA loan, applicants must:

• Be a Community Housing Provider (CHP) registered under a law of, or under a scheme administered by, a State or a Territory
• Have an Australian Business Number (ABN)
• Have an Australian bank account
• Legally constituted and do you exist at the date of lodging this form

What can AHBA be used for?

• Acquiring new housing
• Constructing new housing
• Maintaining existing housing
• Assisting with working capital requirements and/or general corporate requirements
• Refinancing existing debts

Artists’ Benevolent Fund

Purpose: The Maker Projects - Community STEM Engagement grants 2024 provides grants for fostering inquiry-based learning and the development of STEM skills in students and youth under 18 years of age in design, engineering and programming, through hands-on learning.

Industry Growth Program

• $50,000 - $250,000 to support early-stage commercialisation projects

Local Sporting Champion Grant

Purpose: Supports Shortland’s young athletes to realise their sporting dreams and compete in their sporting competitions. Local junior athletes turning 12 to 18 years of age in the same calendar year as the nominated sporting championship can apply for a grant to cover the cost of:

Long Tan Bursary

Purpose: The Long Tan Bursary helps eligible children and grandchildren of Vietnam veterans pay for their tertiary education. Each year 37 bursaries are awarded to successful applicants across Australia. Each bursary is worth up to $12,000 over 3 years of continuous full-time study.

Purpose: The National Justice Reinvestment Program is a long-term, community-led approach to shifting people’s interactions away from the justice system by investing in preventative and rehabilitation measures, informed by local stories, evidence and data.

Peer Support and Capacity Building Grant

Purpose: This program is a one-off grant round targeting eligible, small, community-based, disability-led organisations to support people with disability to engage in the community and to advocate for themselves

Strengthening Social Cohesion Grants

Amount: $12.25 million

Purpose: To support Australian Palestinian, Muslim and other communities affected by the Hamas-Israel conflict. The first round of funding will provide $12.25 million for affected Palestinian, Muslim and other communities, including:  ​

• $7 million for national programs addressing social cohesion impacts felt across communities in Australia;
• $1.25 million to expand and enhance existing social cohesion projects; and
• $4 million for community-led grass roots programs.

Thriving Suburbs Program

Purpose: The Thriving Suburbs Program drives urban economic prosperity by providing access to funding for community-focused infrastructure projects throughout urban, suburban, and peri-urban communities of Australia. The objectives of the program are:

• Constructing or upgrading community infrastructure that fills an identified and immediate gap or unmet need for community infrastructure, particularly for communities that have experienced substantial growth
• Contributing to achieving social outcomes and increased community cohesion, liveability and accessibility for urban, suburban and peri-urban growth areas, fringe areas and inner suburbs
• Strategic alignment with the Australian Government’s National Urban Policy to deliver targeted and place-based investment that promotes sustainable growth and enables communities to thrive.

Veterans’ Acute Housing Program

Amount: $30 million

Purpose: To provide funding to eligible organisations to improve housing outcomes for veterans and their families. The Program will provide up to $30 million in grant funding under 2 streams:

• $24 million in capital works funding for projects to expand the availability of crisis and transitional housing under the Veterans’ Acute Housing Program – Capital Works Grant (Capital Works Grant); and
• $6 million to fund organisations to deliver specialist support services that address the risk factors for homelessness under the Veterans’ Acute Housing Program – Specialist Services Grant (Specialist Services Grant).

Energy Consumer Australia

Tertiary Health Study Subsidies

Purpose: Are you a student enrolled in a health care degree? You can now apply for up to $12,000 in subsidies to support you in your studies!

This initiative will create a future pipeline of health workers with up to 850 nursing students, 400 medical students and 150 midwifery students expected to enter the subsidy program each year.
