Fall Registration News

Registration opens this week! New courses will be added on a rolling basis and YSE courses will be added in May. You can add YSE courses to your worksheets during add/drop in August. Refer to the newly revised EVST 2025-26 BA Checklist or BS Checklist when selecting courses and check the FAQ page on the EVST website for answers to some common registration questions, including:

· How to register for graduate and professional school courses

· How to choose concentration courses

· What courses fulfill the advanced seminar requirement

New EVST Fall 2025 Courses:

EVST 3303 | Environmental Data Visualization for Communication. A basic understanding of descriptive statistics is expected. Programming or coding experience is not required. Instructor: S imon Queenborough

EVST Class of 2026 and 2025.5 | Details on the advising relationship and the senior essay process can be found in the EVST Senior Essay Handbook. When signing up for EVST 4960: Senior Colloquium, please note:

Section 01 is intended for EVST seniors who plan to complete their senior essays in Fall semester. Enrollment is by instructor permission. Permission is granted only to (1) seniors who have previously completed one term of EVST 496 (continuing two term essayists) and (2) senior candidates for the BA in EVST who expect to complete a one-credit senior essay in the fall term. Enrollment in Section 01 requires prior confirmation that the student has secured the commitment of a Yale faculty member to act as their senior essay advisor.
Section 02 is intended for EVST seniors who plan to complete their senior essays in Spring semester. This category includes students in the BS track, which requires a two-term senior essay, and those students in the BA track who have been approved by the EVST DUS to pursue a two-term project. For students in the BA track, enrollment in this section requires prior confirmation that the student has secured the commitment of a Yale faculty member to act as their senior essay advisor and the advisor's and the EVST DUS's approval of their proposed topic and plan of research.

John Addison Porter Prize | The Porter Prize recognizes original scholarship that gathers and synthesizes facts and principles to create work of broad human interest.
