  • One voucher for a $25 lift ticket (valid for the remainder of the 2024-25 season)

Carve Out Hunger has provided us with over 40,000 pounds of food donations since 2013!

Spring for Food — April 5

Five volunteers at Spring for Food

Spring for Food is about a week away!

Spring for Food provides us with a sustainable supply of food during a time when donations are less frequent. Your support ensures we will be able to distribute groceries to local families, as well as provide supplemental food for school-aged children through the KidsPack program.

Three ways to help us meet our goal of 15,000 pounds of food donations:

1.

Shop for your groceries, plus a few of our wish list items!

We will provide wish lists with aisle numbers for our most needed food items.

2.

Volunteer! Our volunteers make Spring for Food possible.

Sign up to help us pass out wish lists and collect food donations. This is a great volunteer opportunity to enjoy with friends and family!

3.

Help us spread the word!

By telling your friends and family about Spring for Food, you are increasing awareness of food insecurity in our community and mobilizing others to get involved.

Spring for Food is generously sponsored and co-hosted by First Security Bank and Cardinal Distributing.

Food Rescue

Large food bank box truck

We're looking for volunteer food rescue drivers!

Our volunteers help us rescue donations from local grocery stores and businesses every weekday. Last year, they helped us rescue over 930,000 pounds of donations!

These donations support our self-choice store model and allow us to offer our customers a variety of foods to choose from. Plus, it reduces food waste in our community!

Community Needs Assessment Survey

As a Community Action Agency, HRDC conducts a Community Needs Assessment every three years to determine the most critical needs within our service area. For the first time, all Community Action Agencies across the state are collaborating on this process to better understand the landscape across all of Montana.

The Community Needs Assessment is the first phase in the development of our strategic plan, which outlines and identifies potential programs, partnerships or policies needed to address the unmet needs of the community. We cannot respond to the local needs of the residents and communities we serve without understanding existing community resources and how conditions change overtime.

We believe in order to build a community where anybody and everybody can thrive, we must hear directly from those who are working and living here. Anyone living and working in the state of Montana is kindly requested to provide their experiences via the survey link.

We greatly appreciate your support on this critical piece of our organizational strategy.

HRDC 50th anniversary logo

In 2025, HRDC will celebrate 50 years of building a better community across Southwest Montana.

This milestone reflects our commitment to not only addressing the needs of the communities and residents we serve today, but building for a better tomorrow. Over the next year, we’ll showcase some key accomplishments, highlight the lives and communities we have changed, and celebrate our vision for the next 50 years.

We invite you to follow along and celebrate with us as we reflect on our past 50 years and take a sneak peak at our plan for creating a better tomorrow.
