FROM DEAD FACT TO LIVING TRUTH 

How many times has a routine conversation sparked a surprising insight? “A flash, and where previously the brain held a dead fact, the soul grasps a living truth!” writes author Arnold Bennett.

I recently experienced such a flash during a discussion about employee health with a local business owner. When he commented that there was a lot more scientific data supporting healthiness than he had realized, I suddenly understood a “living truth.” Although I’ve probably used the term “evidenced-based” a thousand times, I didn’t realize that I had been talking about what I’m now calling the “Science of Healthiness.” It also occurred to me that if others were aware of the foundation of knowledge underlying the concept of healthiness, healthiness-related information would be more accessible and useful.

THE SCIENCE OF HEALTHINESS

The Science of Healthiness is a foundational system of knowledge that forms the basis of the truths about personal healthiness—truths derived from quality medical data, healthiness research findings, and practical experience. This system of knowledge enables us to articulate what healthiness is, understand how healthiness enriches our lives, and determine the best methods for attaining and sustaining more of it. The Science of Healthiness is compelling and radical in that it encourages breakthrough thinking about our potential for healthiness and its ability to enhance our lives.  

EYE-OPENING AND PRACTICAL

The Science of Healthiness is also eye-opening and practical. There are many ways to take advantage of its knowledge for new insights and real-world guidance.

For example, in the media where illness topics are highlighted and healthiness topics remain hidden, compelling science-based facts can lead us to breakthrough thinking that unveils hidden truths, unleashes sudden shifts in perspective, and counters prevailing one-sided views.

When it comes to practical uses, this science-based knowledge can help us evaluate the countless, confusing, and conflicting health-related information that flows to us by providing orderly and systematic healthiness-related guidance instead.

Science of Healthiness knowledge can also provide practical, clear, and credible direction for determining the best methods for building personal healthiness. These methods even reveal why willpower doesn’t work—and why following an effective plan does—when we endeavor to successfully adopt new personal health-building practices.

While the Science of Healthiness terminology may be new here at Advanced Wellness Systems, our commitment to basing all of our programming and activities on quality scientific knowledge is not. 

One of the more obvious examples of this commitment is on view in our Newsletter Archive where the issues reflect strong scientific principles.
