Dear P-6 Families

I am writing to request your immediate support in ensuring that our Kiss and Ride procedures are followed consistently and respectfully. A number of Prep families have contacted me expressing frustration at being unable to collect their children at the 3:00pm dismissal time. I have also personally observed several instances where families with children across multiple year groups have parked in the Kiss and Ride zone for extended periods – sometimes up to 15 minutes, while waiting for older siblings. This blocks access for Prep families and disrupts the flow of traffic.

To ensure safety and fairness for all families, I ask that you please follow these expectations:

• If you have children in multiple year groups, please park outside the Kiss and Ride zone. This allows Prep families to access the pick-up area first.

• Do not arrive before your designated pick-up time. Please do not park in the Kiss and Ride zone, waiting for the bell. Our staggered dismissal times are intentionally designed to support our youngest students and reduce congestion on Carrington Avenue.

• Dismissal times are as follows:

  • Prep: 3:00pm

  • K–4: 3:10pm

  • Gioia House: 3:20pm
     

• This expectation also applies during assemblies and all other community events. Please avoid using the Kiss and Ride zone to wait early or park during these times.

• If staff ask you to move your vehicle, please do so promptly and respectfully. Staff are acting to maintain safety and ensure all families can access the pick-up zone when it is their designated time.

Our priority is the safety and wellbeing of all students, and your cooperation is essential in keeping traffic flowing smoothly and ensuring that our youngest learners can be collected safely and on time.
