Click here ![]() Celebrating Older Persons SundayUniting Church communities across Australia are invited to mark the fourth annual Older Persons Sunday during October. Established by the Uniting Church Assembly in 2022, Older Persons Sunday is a time to celebrate the contributions and human rights of older people, confront ageism, and consider how we can build communities that honour dignity and nurture hope across all generations. A worship resource is available for use by congregations which includes a full service outline, intergenerational activities, suggested scripture readings, music, prayers and reflections. A Step Forward on the Long Way Home for Stolen GenerationsOn 27 May 2025, Premier Roger Cook announced a Stolen Generations redress scheme would be introduced in WA. Aboriginal people who had been removed from their parents before July 1972, and who were still alive on the day of the announcement, would each be eligible for a payment of $85,000. In this Revive feature story, Uniting Church members of the Bringing Them Home WA committee shine a light on the recent announcement by the WA State Government to introduce a Stolen Generations Redress scheme, what it means for survivors and their families, and how the Uniting Church community can continue to support First Nations justice.
