EVST News December 17, 2024 Have a wonderful winter break! New Courses and UpdatesE&EB 212 Data Science in Ecology and Conservation is a seminar-style course. It is currently under review for QR designation (which should be in place before semester start) and is taught by Walter Jetz, director Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and of Environment Studies at YSE and director of the Yale Center for Biodiversity and Global Change. CSYC 224 Approaches to Sustainable Food and Agriculture considers the multiple roots and possible futures of organic farming, local food, urban agriculture, controlled environment agriculture, and related concepts, contestations, trends, and fads. The course includes three required Friday afternoon working visits to the Yale Farm at the end of the semester, which will ground discussions in hands-on work in the soil and is taught by Mark Bomford, Director of the Yale Sustainable Food Program.
