SPECIAL SECTION:

Everything You Need to Know

So What Is the Pursuit Anyway?

What It Is. . .

What It Is Not. . .

  • A new and unique concept for sharing climate solutions among higher ed peers

  • A chance to create knowledge-to-action teams by meeting you where you are

  • Peer-to-peer conversations on sticky issues

  • An opportunity to work with a bigger campus team on shared goals

  • Give and gain!  Teach and learn from each other by role and topic

  • In-person
  • Another zoom meeting
  • A conference or summit
  • A one-and-done opportunity
  • A chance to sit on the sidelines
  • More work for you to do

The Climate Action Pursuit – being hosted by Second Nature and the Intentional Endowments Network (IEN) throughout 2021 – is a brand new approach that will create knowledge-to-action teams who will work together to accomplish goals in six topic areas that are central to the higher education sector in addition to our nation’s climate priorities.

If you are not, read below to learn more about how you can become one.
If you are, share the information below with your peer institutions who should be!

Second Nature invites campuses to join its Climate Leadership Network and be a signatory to The Presidents’ Climate Leadership Commitments.  Whether your campus is just starting to consider decarbonization or a campus with years of climate and sustainability planning and implementation, increasing collective action is necessary to meet the magnitude and urgency needed to reduce global carbon emissions.

To learn more about the Climate Leadership Network and how it can support or amplify your campus' climate action, email Stephen Muzzy smuzzy@secondnature.org to schedule a call.

2021: Time to Accelerate Your Climate Action Even More

Making a committed plan for achieving carbon neutrality on your campuses is one thing.  Actually doing the work to get it done is another.  Many of you are doing both; which is not an easy feat by any stretch, which we understand.

However, even with everything we're doing, we are still racing against the clock to make a real difference in curbing the effects of climate change on the present and future generations.

So in 2021, all of us need to accelerate our climate action like never before.

Does your campus have a carbon neutrality goal date of 2050 or beyond?  That is too late.  Help us, help you, work to update your Climate Action Plan to advance your goal date to earlier than 2050.
